Notes from Mom’s Bible

I’ve been spending a lot of time with my Mom these days. When she’s napping, I like to look at the notes she wrote in the flyleaves of her Bible over the years. These little notes explain a lot about her love for the Lord Jesus and the love she showed and still shows others. I wanted to post some of these things she wrote that I’ve found really encouraging. (I don’t think she’ll mind. I did ask – but I’m not sure she knows what a blog is…. However, I know she would want others to be encouraged the same way she was.) Some of them are notes from sermons or radio messages – some verses – some poems….
Here are a few of the “Notes from Mom’s Bible” –

A Christian is a person who has a quality of happiness that comes through even when their life is in chains.
God asks: I gave you my Son. Have you received Him? I gave you a gift. Are you using it? He won’t ask how much money you saved up for a rainy day but how much did you invest in others. Jesus said: Lay up treasures in Heaven (Matt 6:20)

Words stain the lips – Thoughts stain the heart – Deeds stain the record.
God is the Treasure of my soul—The Source of lasting joy; —A joy which want shall not impair, —-Nor death itself destroy.
Isaiah 12:2 God is my Salvation God is my Strength God is my Song God is my Joy
A belief in Christ will: -enrich you, not limit you! -gladden you, not depress you! – give you JOY not GUILT.
The Sovereign of the Skies, Lord of the Worlds, cares about me – all the details of my life!! The very hairs of my head are numbered. -Boyd Nicholson January 1996
I know the plans I have for you, to give you a future and a hope!! And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart!! Jeremiah 29:11-13
Jeremiah 31:3 – I have loved you with an Everlasting Love
Christ died – that’s History! Christ died for me – that’s Salvation!
Trust and obey God. Love and forgive others.
So, there are some points to ponder. Lessons from Mom’s Bible…. I’m so thankful for the blessing she has been in my life…. thought I’d pass a bit on…
