A new venture
A new venture

Hello Friend,
This is truly a new venture for me. Today I’ve opened up this new website and started a blog. It’s really an encouragement blog primarily for my “sisters in Christ” – that’s who it’s written for….but the great thing is that that isn’t an exclusive club! Anyone can join! and everyone is welcome to eavesdrop!
I believe that it will also be a huge encouragement to me. Encouragement tends to rebound onto you when you give it. I hope that it will strengthen us all, give us courage and comfort and increase our joy!
Here’s my thought for today –
When I was a child, my mom had this wonderful “thing” called Mula. It was an acronym for “Mommy’s Undivided Loving Attention”. I still remember when I was just a little girl, I could walk up to Mom at any time during the day and say, “Mommy, can I have some Mula?” (just like asking for a cookie) and she would sit down and take me up in her lap and cuddle me, and listen to me and focus just on me. (I know – I was a blessed child). You know, she loved me just as much when I wasn’t sitting in her lap – but I felt it in a special way when I was there focusing back on her and her love for me. And when I got up and went about my day – back to chasing seagulls, collecting rocks and all those other very important jobs for a five year old, I went knowing that she loved me.
Here’s the connection:
I John 3:1: “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…” Our heavenly Father cares for us! John 10: 28,29 “And I give unto them eternal life: and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” Our heavenly Father hangs on to us! “Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Our heavenly Father values us.
He loves us even when we forget all these verses – but we will know it in a special way when we meditate on them and think about His love and care. Let’s take some time to “sit in His lap” today and let His love fill our minds. Then, we can go about the other stuff, knowing we are loved.
May these verses bring courage and comfort and joy!
